A distinctive honor came in 1985 when Mr. Bujones made a command performance at the White House for the President of the United States (President Reagan) and on May 4, 1991, he received a "Proclamation from the Governor of the State of Massachusetts", honoring him on his "Bravo Bujones" 20th Anniversary Gala Performance with Boston Ballet that commemorated "Two Decades of his Illustrious Career". |
On June 2nd, 1995, Mr. Bujones danced his "Farewell Performance" with American Ballet Theatre at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York and he received a 20 minute standing ovation from the audience along with a congratulatory letter from the President of the United States (President Clinton) citing his "Lifetime of Artistic Excellence". |
In 1996, Mr. Bujones was invited to be the Choreographer in Residence of Texas Christian University's Dance Department in Fort Worth, Texas. A position that was non existent, was created for him and he still proudly occupies. Mr. Bujones who has long been associated with the charismatic energy he brings to his work, continues to successfully serve Dance in many ways. He has acted as Artistic Advisor to various ballet companies and has represented America as the USA Juror in the 1996, VII Paris International Dance Competition. In addition he has served as Co-Chairman and is presently in the Executive Committee of the "Hispanic Heritage Awards" in Washington D.C. and has been a member of the Advisory Board for various prestigious Dance Magazines around the nation. |
For more than two decades Mr. Bujones' career has expanded into Teaching / Coaching, Choreography and Artistic Direction. As a choreographer he has been praised for his classical restagings and original works, and he has mounted many of his ballets on prestigious ballet companies like: American Ballet Theatre, The National Ballet of Canada, Boston Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Tokyo Ballet, The Torino Opera Ballet, Mexico's National Dance Company and others. He is a much sought after teacher/coach, with an international reputation having taught at The Paris Opera (Ballet), The Munich Opera (Ballet), The Torino Opera (Ballet), The Norwegian Opera (Ballet), The National Ballet of Canada, Boston Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Mexico's National Dance Company and others |
In addition he has artistically directed ballet companies in Brazil, Mexico, Spain and the United States. In 1993, he was the Artistic Director of Ballet Mississippi in Jackson, Mississippi. In 1994, he founded his own ballet company, Ballet Clasico Mediterraneo in Madrid, Spain and from 1995 to 1998 Mr. Bujones artistically guided Ballet de Monterrey / Mexico to greater artistic heights. |
